The Neurovetted Ethics Code
Every provider in the directory is bound by this code. It is the foundation of everything Neurovetted stands for.
The Neurovetted Ethics Code exists to draw a clear line between providers who operate with integrity and those who don't. Every person who hires a service provider online deserves to do so without fear of manipulation, deception, or exploitation. This code is our commitment to holding providers to a standard that actually protects consumers - no exceptions.
The Eight Principles
Transparent Pricing
Providers must clearly disclose all costs, payment structures, and what is and isn't included before any purchase. No hidden fees, surprise charges, or bait-and-switch pricing.
Clients deserve to know exactly what they're paying for before they commit. This includes subscription costs, refund terms, upsells, and any additional fees that might apply.
Honest Marketing
All marketing claims must be truthful and substantiated. Providers may not use fake urgency, artificial scarcity, fabricated testimonials, or misleading before/after results.
Marketing should educate and inform, not manipulate. This is especially critical when serving neurodivergent audiences who may be more vulnerable to high-pressure tactics.
Accurate Credential Representation
Providers must only claim qualifications, certifications, and experience they genuinely hold. Misrepresentation of credentials is grounds for immediate removal.
We verify credentials for every listed provider. If you're not a therapist, don't claim to be. If you're not certified in your methodology, don't claim you are. Credibility depends on honesty.
No Predatory Targeting
Providers must not deliberately exploit cognitive vulnerabilities, emotional distress, executive dysfunction, or neurodivergent traits to pressure purchases.
This includes leveraging ADHD-related urgency issues, anxiety, shame, or executive dysfunction to bypass critical thinking. The goal is to serve, not to exploit.
Clear Refund & Cancellation Policies
All providers must have publicly accessible, fair, and clearly worded refund and cancellation policies. Policies must not be designed to trap clients.
If a client changes their mind, they should be able to cancel without jumping through hoops or losing their entire investment unfairly. Transparent policies build trust.
Client Safety First
Providers in coaching, therapy, or wellness must never position themselves as a substitute for medical care without appropriate credentials, and must refer out appropriately.
If a client needs psychiatric care, medication, or emergency mental health support, providers must recognize it and refer them to qualified professionals. Safety always comes first.
Accountability & Responsiveness
Providers must respond to complaints in good faith and within a reasonable timeframe. Ignoring or dismissing client concerns is a violation.
When feedback or complaints are raised, providers should engage thoughtfully. This is how trust is maintained and how providers improve their practice.
Ongoing Compliance
Ethics code compliance is not a one-time audit. Providers may be reviewed, investigated, or removed at any time if violations are identified.
Being listed on Neurovetted is not a permanent credential. It's an ongoing commitment to integrity. We monitor, investigate complaints, and maintain standards consistently.
What Happens When The Code Is Violated?
Violations are taken seriously. When a complaint is received, we investigate. Providers found in violation may receive a warning, be placed under review, or have their listing permanently removed. We do not protect providers at the expense of consumers.
