Dr. Shine Kim completed her BA in International Studies at UC Irvine and her PhD in Education at Claremont Graduate University.
With her expertise and experiences as a first-generation scholar and second-generation Korean American, she works as an academic coach and freelance writer at her business, Dandelion Margins Services LLC. She helps students unpack power dynamics in academia, humanize the graduate student experience, and combat conformity while encouraging power redistribution.
When Shine isn’t coaching or writing, she strives to prioritize rest by reading books, thrifting, creating zines, and traveling. She lives in Southern California with her husband and their mildly startled, full of tortitude cat, Penny.
